A Time For Prayer

What a crazy couple of weeks. The Saturday before Thanksgiving we found out that my cousin had past away, unexpectedly. That was very rough! We left for VA on Thanksgiving and spent the whole day driving down there. My Aunt got married on that Saturday in which I was the wedding coordinator and on top of that, I had to design and print the programs for the wedding without being able to show it to the bride and groom for their approval. This made me very nervous. AND, Scott was the music DJ for the whole wedding and reception. Rehearsal was on the Friday night after Thanksgiving and Nathaniel was the ring bearer. The wedding went very well and they loved the programs. Scott and Nathaniel did a great job and I am so thankful that it is over. :-) We came home on Sunday and have not really stopped since. We are thankful that Shaughn was able to drive there and back and logged many hours for his driver's permit. YEAH! He did a great job too. Dad even slept during the time that he drove, which must have meant either he did a great job or that Dad was so tired that he didn't care and slept through it. HA HA

I have 3 doctors appts. this week. I went to the first one yesterday. I had an EMG and that was very interesting and I don't want to have another one for a long time to come. She referred me to the surgeons and to the pain clinic. She wants the surgeons to do surgery and removed the bulging discs (there are two) that is pinching my nerves and she wants the pain clinic to do steroid injections for all of the arthritis I have in my spine and hips. She said that the pain I feel when she was just touching my back is from the arthritis and from the MRI, it shows I have a lot of it and that it is in a lot of my spine. It looked REALLY bad around the lower back where the discs are bulging. I was able to get my pain clinic appt. for Dec. 12th and the surgeon appt. they will call me to set up once they get the report from my Dr. I go tomorrow for my sleep tests results and to get my machine. Friday I go back to my foot doctor to catch him all up to date with all of this news. The doctor did say that the injections that I will be receiving will increase my blood sugar so I will have to monitor my diabetes issue more closely. (Great, one more thing. :-) )

Since November, we have re-introduced our date nights, family nights and a night to pray and plan for our future. These times have been going very well and it feels really good to be able to keep them up. Please pray that God will guard and protect these times and that He will be glorified during these times. Two of the times are when the boys are at youth or at Awana, so it works out well for childcare.

With the holidays approaching, we are very excited to spend even more time together, growing and purging, to get ready for the changes that are to come.

The boys start Archery this Saturday and that will be every Saturday through March. (or as long as we are still here). Nathaniel turns 9 this coming Monday, Dec. 4th and I turn 40 next Thursday...Dec. 7th. So, we will be celebrating during the next week or so. :-) Which is a nice change from all of the funerals we have had in the last month....3 of them. That is enough.

My dad's surgery went very well and the test results came back great. No CANCER!! Praise the Lord!!

We have some more supporters and are now at 67%. YEAH!! The Lord is so faithful!!

As I close for now, I just want to Thank Jesus for everything and everyone!! He is so good! Praise the Lord now and forever!!

Also, praise report!! Mack King is home after his heart surgery and still needs our prayers for continued healing. Welcome Home Mack, we missed you!

Blessings to all!
Lela
