God Provides

Just wanted to let everyone know that God has once again provided. We have someone to watch our little ones for the weekend. Our friends from church returned from their vacation on Tuesday evening and I spoke to them yesterday and they are excited about the boys coming over for the weekend. Praise the Lord! So, we are able to go away for our Sanctuary Weekend and not worry too much about the boys. You know us, we will still worry a little. ha ha

So, our prayer request is one, of course for the boys, and the other is for Scott & I to hear from God and have quality time together.

Things are going well...

Praise the Lord!! The dentist is giving us a discount with Matthew's tooth. Instead of costing us $625 he is only charging us $300. Yeah!! He spent 1 1/2 hours in the dentist chair last week and they had to rebuild his tooth using 2 metal rods inserted into his tooth and built up around it to make the tooth big enough to be able to put the partial and then permanent tooth onto. All is going well so far with that whole process. He gets his permanent one on July 10th.

Scott found out this week that he is scheduled to go to Mobile Alabama to do an engine school. A couple of the guys went while he was in Alaska and now he and one other MMS guy is going in October. Their scheduled dates are October 20-24th. This class costs $750 and comes out of our one time fee that we had to raise. Airfare and hotel expenses will be added to that and all. He is very excited! It is with Continental Engines (something like that) and they learn engine overhauls. He is not sure of his leaving and returning details as that is still being done through MMS and we have not been told.

The boys are doing well. We have been trying to set up all of the details of our Michigan trip and get things into place. Scott and I are suppose to have a Sanctuary Weekend this coming up weekend but the folks who had agreed to watch our boys and since planned other things. So, I have been trying to figure out folks to watch them. The trouble is most of the MMS women are going to a homeschool conference this weekend and a lot of folks at church are on vacation or have only girls. There is also a missions conference that a lot of them are going to this weekend. That doesn't leave anyone really that we know. So, it will be a God thing if this all works out. :-) I may let Scott go on his own for a weekend away. :-)

Well, the sun is shining and the weather feels warm. So, I am going to go and start our day. We are still trying to finish up school since we started so late with the move and all. We are about 2 months behind or so. I am doing 1/2 days so we can still enjoy summer somewhat. :-)

The Missing Tooth

Well, for the second time this week I will be taking Matthew to the dentist. A couple of years ago he lost his front tooth in a sledding accident and had to have a crown. Well, that crown chipped on the front top half back in April and the dentist filled it in, but the filling fell out and so I rescheduled him to go back to the dentist. Our appt. was this past Tuesday. On Monday night the whole crown fell out and so we took it to the dentist with us and she put it back on as a temporary until she could get us in to do another crown. Of course this happens with no insurance. She used permanent sticking stuff and said she didn't care if she had to saw it off when he came back in, she just didn't want it falling out on him again. This was all on Tuesday. Wednesday morning...it fell out again! So, I called Dr. Reese again and told her. She got her appt. book and moved some things around and is having us come in this morning to put on a new temp. and to get his new permanent one ordered. I feel so bad for Matthew. He had to go to youth last night with his front tooth gone. Most people didn't even know that he had a crown and was completely shocked to see him. He does look a little different.
The dentist we use really gives MMS'ers a discount. They don't charge us to do cleanings and so far haven't charged me anything for fixing Matthew's tooth. The crown is suppose to cost $625 but Dr. Reese said she is going to talk to the main doctor to see what kind of discount he can give us. Please pray that it is a good one. We hate having to pay for a second crown for the same tooth in such a short period but are very thankful that for the most part our children have been very healthy during their life and we haven't had a lot of medical expenses occur with them. Praise God for that!!
Please keep Matthew in your prayers too. He has went through a lot with this tooth thing and said he just wished that God would grow it back and that it would be all over. He is so young to have to deal with this but thank the Lord it isn't something worse.
Other than that, we are all doing pretty well. Scott has the touch of something but has been able to exercise all week and is pretty happy about that. We are settling down a bit and starting to feel more normal.

Wow, it has been so hot here!! In the high 90's! BUT, our God has provided some relief. We have been blessed with season passes for the family at the local aquatic center. It is an outdoor pool/water slide/park. Very nice. We went as a family on Sunday after church. It brought a nice relief. We have been able to keep our home cool with 2 window air conditioners and lots of fans.

We have made it home and it is finally starting to feel like home again. Scott and I arrived in Coshocton on Memorial Day around 3:30 p.m. and by 5:00 p.m. was on the road again with our bags repacked for North Carolina to pick up our boys from Grandma-ma's house. We got there about 2 in the morning on Tuesday and left by 7 a.m. on Wednesday to come home. Arrived home by 7:30 p.m. that evening. Thursday Nathaniel had a eye doctor appt. in the morning and Scott, Shaughn and I had doctor appts. in the afternoon. Friday Scott went to work for a half of day and during that time we received a call that his Aunt Ruth, from Michigan, had passed away. So, on Saturday morning we once again left out with our bags packed for yet another adventure. We arrived home that following Tuesday very late and Scott went back to work on Wednesday. (This was just last week.) :-) On Thursday evening, all day Friday and all day Saturday MMS had their annual conference that we are "required" (highly suggested) that we attend. It was for the entire family with all meals included. Our speaker was Duane Elmer. He has written a couple of books on missions/cross-cultural/communications. We really enjoyed him. So, on Sunday after church, we made it a family day and went to the water park with a picnic.

During our conference we also had a guest, Paul Jones, stay with us. He is moving to Coshocton in July and starting at MMS on August 1st. He has been one of the people raising his support and has arrived at 100% while we were Alaska. He led worship for the conference. Beautiful job! He had a stick shift car and had Shaughn drive it home from the conference Friday night. Shaughn was so excited. He hit a rabbit on the way home and laughed silly about it. And I thought he had a heart. :-)

Our insurance situation is still under prayer. We are going to join Samaritan's Ministries. They are not an insurance company but are a ministry that members help each other out. You have a monthly due amount and instead of paying it to a "home office" you pay it to another member in need. If you have a claim over $300, you submit it and if it is approved, then they well send out letters to other members to pay you their monthly dues to you. The approved claims are pretty specific.

We are still praying and asking you to pray about ministry in Alaska. We desire to know God's will without any doubt. You are all part of this team. :-)

The end of June, June 27-29th, Scott and I have a "Sanctuary Weekend" planned. It is at a resort here in Coshocton that is specially for those in ministry. The owners feel it is their ministry to bless others in ministry with a place to get away. It is where we are having our prayer team retreat at in August. We are looking forward to it.

We are meeting with a representative this Thursday for our pre-teens program. We desire prayers as we go forward in launching this ministry for the local church. We are excited to see what God is doing and going to do through this ministry to the local kids.

Please pray for us as we trying to get out our next newsletter. We desire God to speak in and through it. It is all for Him and all about Him! He is sooo GOOD!!!
