An update on Lela's grandma...

I arrived at the hospital about 3-3 1/2 hours before the Lord took her home to be with Him. I was by her side, holding her hand and my dad was on the other side. All of her children made it in to say good-bye. She is not suffering anymore and is in a much better place.

She is at the McDonald Funeral Home in Howell, MI and her viewing is today (Friday) from 1-4 and 6-8 then again tomorrow from 12:30-1:30 with services at 1:30. They are flying her to AK for buriel and her kids and sister are the only ones going for that.

She was the one I was named after...Lela Markcum...she was a great grandma. I spent a lot of time with her growing up and we were very close till the end. I was her first grand-daughter and the only one who lived in the same town as her until Oct. of this year. We had a great good-bye party at her house the first part of Oct. and that is a great memory.

Thank you for your prayers. They really mean a lot to me. Please remember my dad, he was her first-born and was VERY close to his mother. It hurts to see him hurting on top of my own hurt.

Hello everyone,

I am writing this update with a sad heart. I received a call tonight informing me that my grandmother only has a few days left to live. She is at St. Joe's in Ann Arbor in the hospice care. The boys and I are leaving in the morning and Scott will see how it is going come the weekend if nothing happens before then. They are calling the family in so my parents will be flying in tomorrow and so forth.

I know she has been ill for some time but it is still difficult. Please remember us in your prayers.

Shaughn at MMS

Wanted to share another tid bit of news...Scott took Shaughn to work today. They (MMS) love it when volunteers come in and so Scott asked about it. They said that if the boys wanted to come in weekly or so that they would keep a log book as well as Scott and log everything that they do and if they ever want to go through the program themselves for their A & P then all of these hours count towards their time as "time served" and what they did in the log book is credited towards their degree. WOW!! I jumped on that one and told Shaughn (didn't ask, just kidding) :-) that he couldn't miss out on this opportunity. He loves volunteering anyways and what a great combo ay? He worked at the Brighton Library for 3 years and loved it. So, now we have two Godly men at MMS from the Lazaros family. :-)

Remember him in your prayers as he felt leaving early was hard but even harder since Scott has to be there Extra early to open. :-) He was up by 5:30 a.m. He is not use to that one.

Happy Vets Day!!

Happy Vets Day!!

Scott is officially working on a team now and is so excited about living his dream. He is working on a MAF Cessna 206 plane from Chad and is taking the landing gear off today. He is so excited to be working on the "work horse for missions" as he calls it. This plane was rolled in a hurricane and the wings torn off, (sound familiar), and they are replacing or repairing everything from tail to front. They are also updating MAF regulations such as replacing and re-designing the seats to meet MAF's new requirements and Scott is a part of all of this. He says he is getting "on the field training" with repairs that would be done on the field. He is like a kid at Christmas.

Thank you all for being a part of this and for allowing it to happen in this day.

He has also been assigned a job (they all get different jobs and rotate them) of opener. This means he has to be the first to arrive and 'OPEN' then hangar and have it ready for all of the guys when they arrive. He has to be there at 6:30 a.m. instead of 7:30 to do this. The bummer thing is that he does not get off early for it, but hey at least he misses all of the school buses.

We checked out another church yesterday, that makes about 5/6 that we have tried, I am loosing count. The boys and I really like this one but Scott wants to cover all bases before deciding. Please pray that God would lead us to the body He wants for us and would give us all a peace to know it is Him.

Scott's sister came this past weekend and picked up Jeremiah and Nathaniel for the week. Scott was able to give her an official MMS tour while she was here, very cool to see him give the speach and introduce his co-workers to her. She had great questions and it was cool to hear him answer them. We are getting excited to go to the convention this week. Hope to see you all there. (those who are going) :-)

We went last night to a farewell gathering for another MMS family who is leaving this Wednesday. They are going to North Africa but I can not announce with who. They are going to a closed area for missions so I can't say their name or the name of the organization. Please keep them in your prayers. They leave in Jan. but are leaving here to do their rounds to supporters and family to say good bye.

Everything else is going well. The boys and I have started school and slowly but surely getting things to a normalcy so to speak. Would love to hear from you all and God bless you all!!

Happy Wednesday!!

I am at the library again and thought I would try to write to you all. Everything is going very well. Scott is officially out of training as of today and started on the floor with his "team". He was pretty excited this morning. He has been in the "let's see what you really know" stage for the last week and a half, so he was ready for some "real" work.

The boys are here using the internet for some report that they have to do. We came yesterday to do it but the library internet was down. So, being flexible and all we re-arranged our schedule for today.

Scott's sister and her little ones are coming in tonight for a visit through Sunday. We are so excited to see them. We have planned a few places to take them so I am hoping for good weather. :-) She is taking our 2 youngest ones home for a week while we attend the National Missionary Convention next week. She is so sweet. Please remember them all in your prayers for next week that all goes well and that the little guys all get a long and don't have issues being without mommy. :-) (and that mommy is ok without them.) :-)

We have been taking advantage of the beautiful area and have went sight seeing a lot. We have found many new "favorites" and can't wait to go back again.
