The Start of a Busy Summer

Well, this weekend is the beginning of a very busy summer for us. We are suppose to go to Virginia for a family reunion that we have not attended for the last 3 years. It will be a very long trip in a very short time. It will be 500 miles there on Saturday, reunion on Sunday, and traveling back all day on Monday, then back to work for Scott on Tuesday. He is not looking forward to it, but I feel a real urgency in my heart about going. It is my family, and 3 of my uncles have been very ill. One of them was not suppose to make it to this year. He use to live with us while I was growing up and we are pretty close. I feel it is important to make this trip. I do ask for your prayers for traveling and for the expense of it all. I don't want to put the family out or cause a lot more stress on Scott but I really feel God tugging on my heart to go.

After we come home, we have a few open houses to attend and trying to get the camper ready for our time in Ohio during June. Then it will be off to Springhill for our 3 oldest. Dropping them off and picking them up is an all day event. :-) The week that they are gone, I am trying to figure out how I will be able to go and work-out since Shaughn will be at camp and Jeremiah is only 3. I guess I will be getting creative here at home and doing something with him, hopefully the weather will be nice. He and I will be packing the camper and getting ready to leave as soon as the boys are home from camp. I am praying for good weather for them during their time there at Springhill and during our time camping in Ohio. I do not like to camp when it is raining.

When we come home from Ohio, we will have Scott's sister in town with her family. They are in the middle of moving from California to Maryland. Our brother-in-law is in the Coast Guards and is being transferred. They leave on July 2nd and our 16th anniversary is on July 7th.
Shaughn starts driver's ed on July 18th-Aug 4th, which is 4 nights a week plus driving time. Before we know it, it will be time to start soccer and school again.

Please remember us in your prayers that we don't get so caught up in all of the busyness and loose our focus. We desire to keep God in the center of it all and our eyes fixed on Him. He IS our captain, pilot, commander-in-chief. Scott has 2 classes he is doing at the moment that are due by the end of August. I pray that God blesses his efforts and rewards him with time that is carved out just for that.

Did I mention that we have a wedding at the end of August in North Carolina?? Our little flower girl from our wedding is getting married. Hard to believe. We had just starting dating and was only 17 when she was born. We baby-sat her older sister while she was being born. I almost forgot about that trip on top of all of this. I thought that would be a great time for Shaughn to practice driving.

Well, I guess I need to move along and get busy. Scott and Shaughn are at Cedar Point with the high school boys from youth group and the other boys and I are trying to get school done and things ready for the VA trip. I just wanted to write a little and let you all know what is going on.
Yesterday, I had to take Shaughn to the doctors because he has broken out with poison ivy again. He seems to be doing better this morning, so he went and took his drugs with him.

Have a blessed day and I will write more soon.

competent to minister

"Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent to claim anything for oursleves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant...." (2 Corinthians 3: 4-6)

The opening chapters of 2 Corinthinas are my favorite in regard to any ministry in the name of Jesus. Anyone on assignment by God (which is all of us) can be trained and prepared by these chapters.

Bless you guys,
Becky

Nemo Moves In

As of last night, Thursday, May 4, 2006, Jeremiah and Nathaniel now sleep in a "NEMO BEDROOM". I am finally done with the painting of their bedroom and the scrubbing of their carpet and have begun the decorating process. Nemo is on their outlets, trash can and poster. I still need to sew their curtain and put that up but the NEMO material is already purchased. Jeremiah even picked out a Nemo night light. Shaughn and Matthew helped me put up the boys' new bunk beds that we bought them a month ago and boy, does that ever make the room smaller. :-) All we need to finish the room are twin size mattresses for both boys. They are using their crib mattresses from their smaller beds until we can find some on sale. Nathaniel loves being on the top bunk. Jeremiah just loves being in a bigger bed, although he was a little scared going to bed last night.

I think it is safe to say that I can check off one of our many projects. YEAH!!
