The Saga Continues...
We thought we finished the floor last night...YEAH!! but as of this morning, I am not so sure. The guy finally called us this morning about the termites and said we shouldn't have touch the area because the continuation of the construction and replacing the floor just disturbed the nest and caused them to most likely move about and the new wood just supplied them with new food. He said we should have waited for him. I told him that we were told he would be calling and coming out on Saturday...not Tuesday and that we wanted to get the project done by the weekend since Scott was off. Unfortunately he never received our message Saturday and so he didn't know to call us. He felt really bad. He is planning on coming out sometime today or tomorrow with Scott here and giving us a "check out". He did mention that he had already treated 2 other houses on our street for the same thing. UUGGGGHHHH!!
The section in the photo below actually got bigger before we were done since we found some more in the wall. Thankfully they didn't go through into the livingroom...at least we think. We ended up replacing some 2x4's (studs) and 2x2's and need to replace the whole door frame and door that leads to the garage. Right now we have the door area 1/2 blocked off so the critters from the garage don't come into our home...like mice or whatever. I am having a not so comfy feeling with all of this let me tell you but I guess it is great "training" for things to come ay? LOL
I asked Scott why this was happening to us and he just replied with a huge laugh. I guess that was a great answer. I know exactly why this is happening to us. dah!!
Please continue to pray about this matter and we will try to keep you updated. God bless you all!
I am suppose to be painting the kitchen this week...I need wisdom on what to do since the floor thing is up in the air. Thank you all so much for listening to me babble on. I will let you go for now and on to schooling the boys. Who by the way, was awesome this weekend. They really stepped up to the plate and helped Scott hugely. What a blessing.
Love ya,
Lela and boyz~
