Our Memorial Day Weekend Adventures...

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!!

Our brother in Christ, Bruce, told us this morning in service to give Thanks in All things and during all of our troubles...well, Scott and I just looked at each other and had to laugh and look up and verbally say "Thank You Lord" out loud for our "special" weekend because as you all know, we are tearing up our kitchen floor and laying a new one. Well, everything was flowing very smoothly for the first half and then it was bound to happen...trouble. The Lord has a sense of humor like that, you know. We were tearing up the 2nd half and there they were...termites. We were so shocked and grossed out. So, we ended up calling the terminator and they never showed up. I went to Home Depot and bought some stuff and Scott took care of them, we think, and ended up cutting up the floor and part of my wall and burned them. Thank the Lord that they didn't get into the livingroom because that corner where we found them butts up to the livingroom. We still have to tear up the part that is under the fridge and stove and dishwasher, so there could be more but hopefully that was it. We couldn't believe it.

So, in ALL things rejoice and be glad...that is sometime hard to do but we have found that with this experience that laughter and joyfulness in the storm did make it easier to deal with. The Lord is faithful and loving, His mercies are new every morning and His joy is never ending.

The spot they got in was a random area in the middle of the house, which butts up to the garage, making it even more random. This reminds me of satan and how he uses random areas to get into our lives and eat away at something beautiful. We need the Holy Spirit to tear up the surface every so often and clean out the yuckies that is destroying our walk. God knows just where these yuckies are and loves us too much to let them continue to be eaten away by sin. We need to remember to keep HIS joy and know that He is the Master Carpenter and does the best makeovers.
