So Much New....
I have so much new to share with you. Where do I begin?? I have kept a list so I wouldn't miss anything.
- Shaughn came in 2nd in his Drivers Ed class. He received a 98 on his state exam and a great review from his instructor. Now we are working on building up his required hours to begin his 2nd session, which will be Dec. 1-3, 2006. Please pray for continued safety.
- My foot recovery is going well. I still have pain with the nerve and a lot of soreness in my toe joints and all, but the incision is healing very well. Thank you all for everything. I go back to the doctor on Aug. 25th for another check up.
- Scott is slugging away at his class. He is just about 2/3 done. Please continue to pray for the distractions to be minimal. (He had to work on the van this past weekend and that ate up some study time.)
- Praise!!! We have received our 1st pledged supporter. Wow! We have also received a couple of special donations! What a blessing!! We have been mailing at least 5-10 letters each week. Please continue to pray that the Lord blesses each person/family whether they give or not!! We love and appreciate them all!!
- We were able to meet with another family from MMS this past Sunday. It was a family who was not there during our evaluation time. Chris and Dana. Chris is one of the team leaders there and Scott could be assigned to his team. So, it was nice getting to meet them. Very nice family.
- Prayer request: My dad, Bob, needs to have surgery on his arm due to a large mass growing there. The mass is very large and totally wrapped around his nerves and to the bone. The specialist said she would need to get another specialist to help assist her in the surgery that it was going to be a major surgery. He is in a lot of pain and will be off of work for weeks/months following for recovery. After undergoing this foot surgery, which was minor in their books, I couldn't even begin to understand the amounts of pain he will be in from this one and with all of the nerves involved. My heart breaks for him.
- Prayer request: Scott's dad, Tom, lost his job this week. Pray that God would really meet his need and carry him through this time.
- Our 1st newsletter is done and has been approved by MMS! YEAH!! (and there was much rejoicing!!!!!) Now we just need to get it copied and mailed. ha ha
- Praise: Our brother-in-law, Mike Haycock, just made Captain in the United States Coast Guards!!!!! How exciting!!! We are so proud of him! Way to go Captain Michael J. Haycock!!!
- ANNOUNCEMENT: Scott's tool shower has been changed from August 19th to September 30th at BCC. Any information, call Kate Bancroft or Stu Sokolowski. Mark your calendars now. Scott is registered at Sears. He also has tools on the list from Snap-On and from Aircraft-Tool Company. See Kate, Stu or Lela for complete list.
- I ran into a Snap-On guy the other day and stopped and asked him for a current catalog. I told him what we were doing and he agreed to work with us. Kate is going to call him to see if he can be at the shower with his truck. How cool is that??
- Nathaniel earned a big, beautiful trophy last night from Archery class. He is very proud and we are proud of him.
- This past Saturday we went to a Fly-In at the Brighton Hyne Airport and saw many cool airplanes. A B-17 flew over and was very cool. While we were there, the boys checked out the booth for Young Eagles. That's a free flying program for kids 8-17. The boys are very excited about joining and earning hours in their log books. Their names are also put into the worlds largest log book. Very cool.
Well, that is about it for right now. We love you all and appreciate you and your prayers so much. God bless you all,
Lela~
