What a whirlwind!
Here we are back in Ohio. The boys and I went to VA last weekend and came home on Tuesday, then we all left Thursday for MI. We arrived home safely last night about 10:30 p.m. Believe it or not, we came home to a blizzard. It was snowing so hard and thick that no one here knew how to drive, which drove Scott nuts. He enjoyed his 4-wheel drive vehicle and plowed on through. We had made a day out of the journey home and had stopped twice, once for dinner and once for stretching.
Our time in Michigan was fast and furious, but also fun and beneficial. God is so good! We spent the weekend with Cornerstone and met many new people and other missionaries. We really enjoyed it all. We were able to see a few of our friends and family, but not near enough. We also spoke at Faith Temple Sunday night and that was a great time! It is fun being able to catch people up to date with what is going on and how they are such an important part of the team.
Scott's eye appt. went really well. All is good. We will do our 1-year appt. sometime this summer.
He is getting excited about packing up some shorts and heading to FL this Sunday. He is sort of rubbing it in to the rest of us. Not nice!
Scott and the boys are going back to MI on March 7-8 for a youth event at BCC. Plan on seeing them there. PLUS, Scott will be taking the truck there to pick up our new bed that we were blessed with and bought during this last trip. The rebate ended on the 18th so we had to purchase it while we were there but when we checked on the prices of u-haul trailers, they were $150.00 (with a 10% discount)to rent. Not going to happen, so we will be getting the mattresses from Stephanie's on that weekend. I will be at a MMS Ladies Retreat that weekend so I will not be making the trip. Scott gets home from FL on March 6 at 3:50 p.m. in Columbus, so I am not sure yet if he will leave that night or early the next morning. He needs to be in Brighton by 10:00 a.m. for a special luncheon with Matt M.
Something that we learned from this weekend and didn't know just how much was the part about "home". We were asked where home is, we laughed and didn't know how to answer that question. While we were sitting at Grand River and Old U.S. 23 red light, I looked at Scott and said, "I have sat at this red light so many times in my life and never have I felt like this before. It neither feels like home nor unfamiliar." He agreed. We have been gone long enough to not feel like Brighton is our HOME and haven't lived here long enough to feel like this IS our home. Very much a feeling of limbo. We understand what Carl and Ronalyn Steven's told us about home being your immediate family, because the place you live is only temporary. Very strange place to be and you can't truly understand it until you experience it.
We love you all and appreciate you so much. We look forward to hearing from you and what is going on with you as well. Kate, we heard you have been very sick and in the hospital, you are in our prayers and hope you are feeling better. Ed & Stephanie are having a great time with my sister-in-law and kids (Mike too) :=)in Maryland and please remember my Aunt Vesta who feel off Stephanie's porch when leaving after having dinner with us Sunday night. She claims to be ok, but I still worry about her. Miss so many of you! Wish we had more time to see you all!
Bless you all~
Lela and boyz~
