A New Lazaros!!!!
We have made it home from our 2nd trip to Ohio and all is good. We go today to pick up our last truck and load it. We will be taking it down tomorrow and unloading it then coming back all in one day. Please pray for us.
Nancy and Nick Wick went with us on our last trip and helped out. That was a lot of fun. On the way home Scott and the boys wanted to go to Cabela's and so they did as Nancy and I came on home and picked up the two little ones from Kathie Barrieaults. What happened next actually started earlier in the trip, so I will start there.
On the way down to Ohio we stopped for lunch and Scott was telling Nancy about a BIG snake he saw at the new place. I had specifically asked the new landlords if there was any or had any been seen there and they assured me NO. So, knowing these people were Godly Christian people who would never lie to me, I assumed Scott was telling a big one to freak Nancy out. Apparently not! So, He just kept smiling and wouldn't deny it. I went on to proclaim to everyone, including Scott who HATES them, that I would be becoming the proud owner of many cats if indeed there was snakes to be my protector. (Scott doesn't like cats at all and let's everyone know it all the time). But I didn't care on this one. He could live with a cat or a few cats over me dealing with snakes!! So, I was telling the people even at MMS and sharing the fact that I learned where the animal shelter was located (right by the new place)and would be visiting it if needed be. Scott kept laughing at me, but I was serious.
On the way home while the boys were at Cabela's, Scott was making his purchase and the boys went out to the van. As Scott approached the van the boys motioned him to be quiet. Under the van was a baby kitten that they were trying to lure out. They did and Scott insisted they take it up to the customer service area and see who it belonged to and so forth, they did but with no luck. Instead the manaager told Scott that he was the new proud owner of a baby kitten and wished him well. :-)
Scott had the boys call to tell me and right away Nancy and I laughed and I screamed, "God is my provider and has given me a little protector". I immediately called our missionary friends, Carl and Ronalyn Stevens to ask them for the word in Swahilli that means protector, they told me several different names but the first one they said was the one...it is Zamu which means "Night Watchman". (Pronounced Zamoo) What a perfect kitty name. I called and told Scott her name and he laughed and told the boys. Later he called me asking me if we had milk, I said yeah why, he said cause he was at Kroger's buying Zamu some food, I told him not to forget the kitty litter too.
She came home and was welcomed by all. She hadn't eaten in who knows how long and was so skinny and hungry. She is purring and happy in her new home and loves milk.
The boys and all of their commotion doesn't seem to scare her at all. This morning she was found playing with a cricket. She is in training. :-)
As we were writing this blog post an email came in from a dear friend and offered us their table and 6 chairs. What a blessing!!! Scott couldn't believe it because he said that on the way home from Ohio he prayed and asked God to bless us with a table and some chairs...God answered that prayer before the night was over. What an awesome God!
